TripActions, 2020

Safety, Reimagined

Business travel in 2020 shifted drastically because of COVID-19 and other world events. This covers how TripActions pivoted with adding new Admin features for safety as well as how it translated to travelers. This also covers a 1 day hackathon by end of 2020 that explored simplifying the reactionary experience builds.

Reactionary Feature Development (2019-2020)

In 2019, the Admin experience had a minimal Duty of Care (traveler safety) offering of a “LiveMap” and Traveler Report.

LiveMap was a visual experience to show Admins where their travelers were. The expectation was real-time, the actuality was a visualization of the itinerary.

The Traveler Report was a duplicate section of Booking Reports, with a prefiltered view of active travelers.

In 2020, two new pages were developed: COVID-19, Travel Impact Dashboard. These aimed to help Admins get quick context and easy access to contact affected travelers.

The Traveler’s Experience

In production, 2020-2022

TripActions partnered with Sherpa to gain access to their API and surface relevant and contextual information prior to their travel. This included up-to-date COVID-19 restrictions, guidelines, and visa information.

Once their digital and health passports had been uploaded/connected to TripActions, we’d also be able to surface personalized content based on citizenship (the right visa information) and testing requirements (if needed).
